Fenugreek seeds date back to ancient Egypt, a valuable herb for remedies in the manner of gynecological problems, including infection and inflammation of the uterus and vagina. Fenugreek seeds  were often given to induce childbirth and increase milk production, and to encourage weight gain especially in anorexia. Also helpful in reducing fevers. 
Fenugreek seeds have soothing effects making them valuable in help treating gastritis and gastric ulcers. Seeds are also thought to be anti diabetic and can help control insulin resistance in late-onset diabetes, also may help lower blood cholesterol levels. Other potential uses for the seeds include polycystic ovary syndrome, Parkinson's disease, and reducing menstrual cramps. 
Externally, the seeds can be applied as a paste to help treat boils, ulcers, abscesses, or can be used as a douche. 
Caution: Do not take during pregnancy, avoid if undergoing cancer treatment sensitive to hormones; breast cancer or prostate cancer.
